Start by clicking 'Explore the map' in the upper righthand corner of the Home page or this page.
Intro Page
Here you will find a selection of records to get you started and collections from some of our partner organisations. You can tuck the tray away using the arrow key in the middle of the page and make the map full page.
The Map
Use the +/- symbols to zoom in and out of the map. Each pin selected will open a pop up of the record. Click into it and it will appear in full in the tray on the left
Browse
Use the map to zoom straight into the area of interest and records and collections (of records) will display automatically. Search Type in your key words to find text in records and collections. Filter by theme, by record or by collection
Records
Records appear as black ‘record pins’ or white circles with a number where there are multiple entries on the same location. They can include images, text, video, audio and category tags. When selected, the pin will show up in red on the map. Use the tags at the bottom of the record to jump to other records with the same tags. (I could mention galleries of images, social media, etc)
Collections
Collections are grouped records and appear on the map as a three pin icon. Examples of collections might be a theme, such as 'refugee committees'; a designation such as 'Righteous Among the Nations'; or an organisation such as 'The Wiener Holocaust Library'. You can find collections the same way you find individual records. Choose search and make sure only collections are ticked. You can find out if a record is part of a Collection by scrolling down to the bottom of the text.
Home Page
Click the logo on the top left of the map page and this will take you through to the other pages in the site, where you can find out more about the project and about AJR. Get back to the map via the “Explore the Map” button on the top right
